YIN YOGA TRAINING
With Michelle Pietrzak- Wegner E-RYT 500
November 18-20, 2022
Learn the art and science of teaching Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga is a complementary yoga system that focuses on fascia. When the fascia of the body is nourished and healthy we experience better mobility, structural alignment, healthy joints, emotional balance, and a deep spaciousness physically, mentally and emotionally. Steeped in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoism, Yin Yoga works with opening the pathways for chi to flow in the body. The deep quiet of the practice allows the student to fine tune inner-listening skills and mindfulness. Michelle marries somatic principles, Taoist thought and person-centered approaches to practicing and teaching yin yoga. Her specialized Yin Yoga Training draws on her Taoist studies in China, her recent graduate work in somatic-based counseling for trauma, and her developed person-centered approaches taken from western psychology and yoga therapy. This training is open to any yoga teacher looking to expand their knowledge and experience with yin yoga, as well as practitioners who are interested in deepening their personal yin practice. The training will cover individual bone anatomy, fascia anatomy, nervous system regulation, Taoist thought and philosophy, Five Element Theory and Meridian Line systems, yin postures and propping, sequencing, somatic principles, person-centered approaches, and ethics.

TRAUMA-INFORMED TRAINING for Yoga Teachers
Understanding the Neuroscience of Trauma
An estimated seventy-five percent of adults around the world have experienced a traumatic event at some point in their lives. Persons with trauma walk amongst us, often without visible or known symptoms and yet they are struggling to cope beneath the surface even when they walk into a yoga class. As a yoga teacher becoming trauma-informed allows for more inclusivity and sensitivity to your teaching. This 15-hour training will cover the basics of trauma, neuroscience theories of trauma, nervous system responses, polyvagal theory and vagal tone, self-regulation tools, sensory awareness, somatic practices, ethics, safety, and teacher self-care techniques. This training is for trained yoga teachers who are teaching group or individual classes and would like to incorporate the basic mind-body tools of trauma-informed yoga into their current work. This training does not provide direct treatment or diagnosis for working with individuals affected by psychological or physical trauma. A certificate of completion will be issued at the end of this course. For those teachers registered with Yoga Alliance, this training offers Yoga Alliance CEUs.
